What to Wear: Weekend Getaway Part Two

Coming back to packing for a short trip or weekend getaway, we have explained the necessity for those go-to pieces along with those casual necessities that can help with any outfit. But, we can’t forget how important it is to have some pieces that help dress up an outfit.

Play Dress Up

dress upNighttime attire is crucial when it comes to weekend getaways; whether you’re playing dress up for a dinner date, drinks with girlfriends, it is necessary to bring along the perfect pair of heels (that you can also pair with your skinnies) is a must. Remember to pack them in the centre of your bag, (heels facing in) so they’re protected on both sides. I recommend bringing at least 1 dress (usually short). A cute floral dress is the perfect way to visit all family and friends and be thrown into any setting or occasion while remaining cute and put together. A romper is another important piece. You can rock your favourite romper poolside as a swimsuit cover up or you can also dress it up with heels and a scarf for a chic daytime look.

Time to Accessorize

accessoriesI am guilty of bringing a ridiculous amount of costume jewelry with me on every trip, so to keep things slightly organized I always a dedicated clutch (fun way to save space) that I pack all my jewelry into. Three pieces that always make the cutoff are an oversized bangle that could work with at least two of my outfits, a dainty ring in gold that I can wear with everything, and a light scarf for function that can add a pop of colour.

*Now that you’re ready to pack, don’t forget to roll your clothes when filling your suitcase for maximum room. A girl should always have a little extra space in your suitcase for impromptu shopping sprees.
