College girl’s guide to the lipstick jungle: Autumn issue

Good morning everyone! School is officially in session once again and that means only a few things: late nights, early mornings, comfy clothes and an extremely light wallet… {pause for minor pity party}. Whether you’re starting high school, college or university, you will undoubtedly grab for your leggings and over-sized sweaters as you maneuver through your morning in a half asleep state at some point this year BUT, ladies {even gents} I do hope you take a second every once in a while to glam up and feel fabulous. One way to do such a thing, I’ve come to find, is putting on some lipstick. Just adding a bit of color to your standard everyday make up can make you stand out for just one day before you recede back into hermit/bookworm mode. But hey, it makes life a little more exciting.. {I don’t get out much apparently}.  So here are some colors, in my lack of a professional opinion, that I think are especially autumn-y:

“Tomato Reds”

Not ready to give up your bright corals just yet? “Tomato” red lips are the perfect infusion of summer and fall and, depending on the variation (more red than orange), can work on all skin tones!

Note: Reds with more orange tones are best suited for olive undertoned skin.

Berry-licious Shades

These shades work for both medium and cool skin tones and still possess an element of brightness making them perfect for the early fall.

Wines, Plums, and Mauves

These shades tend to look good on warmer skin tones and have a much deeper berry color to them.

So I hope you enjoyed these little facts about lipstick and it inspired some of you to rock one of these shades on this grueling Monday morning 😛 Happy Monday!
